  • Usage Data: Page views, clicks, tour interactions, and feature usage
  • Device Information: Browser type, operating system, device type, and screen resolution

1.3 Chrome Extension Data

When you use our Chrome extension to build product tours, we collect:

  • Website Content: CSS selectors, element attributes, page URLs, and DOM structure of elements you select while building guides
  • Session Data: Authentication cookies to verify your identity and link guides to your workspace
  • Builder State: Temporary local storage of guide steps during creation (stored only in your browser)

Note: The extension only collects data when you explicitly activate the guide builder. It does not run automatically on all websites.

  • Chrome Extension: Temporary data is stored locally in your browser and cleared when you exit builder mode

5. Chrome Extension Permissions

Our Chrome extension requires the following permissions to function:

activeTab

Access the current webpage to highlight elements, detect hover events, and inject the guide builder interface. Only activated when you explicitly launch the builder.

scripting

Inject content scripts and CSS to display the guide builder toolbar, modals, and preview functionality.

storage

Temporarily store guide steps in your browser during creation. Data is saved to your workspace when you click "Save" and cleared from local storage afterward.

cookies

Read your authentication session cookie to verify your identity when saving guides to your workspace. The extension only reads cookies; it does not create or modify them.

Host Permissions (All URLs)

Allow you to build guides on any website where your application is hosted (e.g., your development, staging, or production environments). The extension only activates on pages where you explicitly launch the builder.

6. Your Rights and Choices

You have the right to:

  • Access: Request a copy of your personal data
  • Correction: Update or correct inaccurate information
  • Deletion: Request deletion of your account and associated data
  • Export: Download your guide data in a portable format
  • Opt-Out: Disable analytics tracking in your workspace settings
  • Object: Object to processing of your data for certain purposes

7. Data Retention

  • Account Data: Retained while your account is active
  • Guide Content: Retained until you delete guides or close your workspace
  • Analytics Data: Retained for 24 months for reporting purposes
  • Deleted Data: Permanently removed within 30 days of deletion request
  • Legal Holds: Data may be retained longer if required by law

We use cookies and similar technologies for:

  • Authentication: Session cookies to keep you logged in
